How this works
An IBAN encodes a country code, two check digits, and the domestic bank account number (BBAN). The check digits are validated with the ISO 7064 MOD-97-10 algorithm — the same method every bank uses, so a typo almost always gets caught before a transfer is sent.
This tool only checks the IBAN's structure — it can't confirm the account actually exists or belongs to a real person.
